Lowell McAdam is the chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications Inc. In this role, he oversees all of the company’s operations, including wireless, landline, broadband, Internet, media and advertising, cloud infrastructure services, and global enterprise services. Before joining Verizon in 2009, Mr. McAdam served as president of Sprint Corporation for 23 years
As president of Sprint, Mr. McAdam was responsible for turning around the company’s performance, helping to lead its successful merger with Nextel Corporation in 2005. Prior to joining Sprint in 1980, Mr.
McAdam served as co-founder and CEO of The McAdams Group, one of the largest independent communications consultancy firms in the United States. He also served as a distinguished professor of telecommunications at San Diego State University from 1976 to 1980.
